My Samsung BD-J5700 is not working with the Samsung CD renderer.

I get the following errors when trying to use this renderer:

13:05:47 INFO Media renderer was not recognized. Possible identifying HTTP headers:User-Agent: [BD] Samsung DLNADOC/1.50
13:05:59 ERROR External input stream instance is null... stopping process
13:05:59 ERROR There is no inputstream to return for 1.21 The Magic Mirror
13:06:09 WARN Sending kill -14 to the Unix process: 9159
13:06:09 WARN Sending kill -14 to the Unix process: 9164

I have tried every Samsung renderer in 5.2.3 and none of them will work with my player. I have to go all the way back to 5.0.1 using the Samsung Allshare.conf for it to work.

Isn't it possible to just put that working .conf file in the renderers folder of 5.2.3? That is what I did with my (modified) Panasonic_Viera.conf and it works just fine.

Video "Casino_Royale" UPC: 043396163362 aborts on startup with "Connection error: java.io.IOException" error. Data seems to be valid as it plays in a previewer and on the Blu-ray disc.

Sure you do: unhide them.
In an iTerm (Terminal) window cut & paste or type:

Code: Select all

 chflags hidden ~/Library
Then you will find UMS.conf at:

Code: Select all

~/Library/Application Support/UMS/UMS.conf
or Samsung-*.conf file at:

Code: Select all

Universal Media Server.app/Contents/Resources/renderers/Samsung-*.conf
wherever you put UMS.

Ok I was able to locate the hidden renderers folder and placed the old SamsungAllshare.conf file from 5.0.1 in it and restarted UMS and selected Samsung Allshare as the renderer under the General Configuration menu and restarted again. The good news is that it seems to be working with my BD player now, but it does not detect any renderer on the blank Status tab. Anyways, I think it's important to definitely include the Samsung Allshare.conf file in the renderers folder for future updates as this is the only .conf that actually works with my model Samsung.

i had a lot of movies in which i couldn't search thru the movie (to start from min '30...or something like this) because it's shows 999.999 at the movie length. on my PC i had no problems with these movies, only when i tried to watch them on my TV. was this resolved in this update?

Video "Casino_Royale" UPC: 043396163362 aborts on startup with "Connection error: java.io.IOException" error. Data seems to be valid as it plays in a previewer and on the Blu-ray disc.
This is not an isolated problem.
There are a total of nine Titles aborting the same way:
  • 3:10 To Yuma
    Casino Royale
    Crank
    Departed
    Ghost Rider
    Hellboy
    No Country For Old Men
    Tears Of The Sun
    Terminator
Have Logs & UPC's if needed.

SamsungAllShare.conf was removed in UMS 4.2.1, so is the version that works for you from 4.2.0? If you can start a thread in the help forum you can attach the config that works for you and we can look at adding a modified version for your device. Logs would also be useful to help us know how best to identify your device.
