How to play music in the server itself

Post by spirit1988 »

Hi, I've successfully installed UMS in a Linux server, but when I go to play the music using the web interface, the music is played in the client (my browser). I have a music equipment attached to that server, and I'd like the music to be played in the server itself. Is that possible?

The simply answer is that it is not possible. The UMS is an DLNA server which sends the content to the client which is responsible to play it.

Well it's not impossible, i think, UMS just can't do it.
In theory, UMS should be able to cast/push content to a DLNA player, that DLNA player could be some software on the server.
