[Solved] just a weird little problem...others?

I stream wirelessly from my PC in my spare room to my WDTVLIVE in the living room where my 60" TV is.
I often fast forward through the beginnings of TV shows just to skip the intros. when I upgraded to the new
UMS 9.2 I suddenly can't do that anymore or jump to like 2 mins in. It just kicks me out of whatever show
I'm trying to watch and back to the list of shows. I tried fast forwarding for 6 or 7 mins but wherever I stop
it just kicks out and if I try using Resume which always worked before it also kicks me out of the show??
I have of course gone back to 9.1 which works perfectly again. Any idea of things I might try to get 9.2 to
work properly??
thanks.

The WDTVLive can connect to network shares, are there any specific reason you want to use UMS?

Unfortunately most WDTVLive users have to use a media server these days. The WDTVLive only supports SMBv1, which has been disabled in Windows 10, for example. Although you can still enable SMBv1 again (at one's own risk, of course), the WDTVLive has this nasty habit of often failing to find network shares because of its long-running "master browser" networking problem.

Anyway, there doesn't seem to be any seek issue with 9.4.1 on my WDTVLive, so hopefully the OP has tried that since his post.

Just one note, though: I had to set UMS to never transcode mp4 and avi for my WDTVLive, because UMS wants to transcode several that play perfectly fine without transcoding (witnessed with SimpleDLNA that has no transcoding, e.g.). So if the seek problem is happening with files being transcoded, there could be your answer.

This is likely fixed in newer versions (9.7.0+)
