LG BP530 Bluray Player

I am curious if anyone else was having issues with the LG Bluray players?
First it shows up in UMS as an LG TV which I can understand as the OS on the player is the same one they install on their smart tv's. (Linux distro) But if a file is transcoded you can't fastforward or rewind the stream. From looking at the conf file it looks like it just streams the raw file to the player and it does all the decoding itself. If this isn't the case if you force trancoding for a file it fails to allow any other functionality other than playing the file. You can pause and stop but that is it.
