Samsung 32F5500 vs 32H5500 Subtitle Problem
Samsung 32F5500 vs 32H5500 Subtitle Problem
Hi.
Thank you to anyone that could provide some help.
I own a Samsung Smart TV model UN32F5500 and have been streaming from my MAC using UMS
without any issues all kind of movies with their correspondent subtitles.
Given how well it worked I purchased a second TV which is almost the same. The 32H5500 model
is an slighted improved (480 vs 120 clear motion, quad core vs 2-core). The UI had some differences,
but almost everything works in the same way...everything but the subtitles.
I had the 2 TV's configured equally, I tested both with the same MAC, same UMS version and
config, same wired network, same movie, same subtitle. And the F model display the subtitles perfectly, but no the H model.
I tried almost every configuration related to subtitles in UMS without luck.
I carefully read both TV user guides, and the H model supports the same (and some additional)
video codecs and subtitles type. I also updated the firmware to the last release without any changes.
I'm humbling asking for any ideas to try. Thank you!

Re: Samsung 32F5500 vs 32H5500 Subtitle Problem
Similar problem here a 32F4580 works fine and a 48h6600 doesnt. Samsung must have changed some things between de F and H series.

A different Samsung Tv, but also H series, and also no subs, so yes something must have changed.
Re: Samsung 32F5500 vs 32H5500 Subtitle Problem
UPDATE:
Version 4.0.1 and 4.0.2 (MAC) broke the subtitle support for the F model.
I will test the H model later and post the result as well.

UPDATE 2:
Neither 4.0.1 or 4.0.2 are displaying subtitles on my H model.

Hi Franneke, I have read your other post about the version 4 working fine with subtitles in your H series TV.Franneke wrote:A different Samsung Tv, but also H series, and also no subs, so yes something must have changed.
I tried version 4 beta, 4, 4.0.1 and 4.0.2 without luck.
Do you changed something in the .CONF files as some users suggested? Are you using the default configuration or altered some settings?
Thank you!
