Github is phasing out download support which might have something to do with this. You can
  • try rerunning the installer a few times to see if it works (shut down UMS and double-click jumpy-0.2.5.exe in your plugins folder). You can repeat this as many times as you like, the installer will only try to complete the missing steps.
  • or just download the zip by hand and put rtmpdump.exe + librtmp.dll inside your win32 folder, and make sure rtmpdump.path is set in UMS.conf:

    Code: Select all

    rtmpdump.path = win32\\rtmpdump.exe

OK, I'll try this since running the jumpy.exe multiple tries gets the same result.

Thanks for trying :), you're the second one reporting this (though it worked for me when I tested yesterday). I'll look into it.

I did what I said I was going to do above, and then went and tried the jumpy.exe again and it worked this time. It completed all tasks. But, I had to edit the file permissions (right click the conf file > Properties > Security ) of the conf file to the user group, other wise I could not save the edited conf file (with notepad). Just for fun, I also edited the permissions of the Universal Media Server folder also to user. Maybe this is why the jumpy.exe worked this time?

I run Win 7 pro, 32bit

This link still works. Looks like svnpenn took down his archive again. I read he switched forums, so I'm sure his new DL links are there.

This was very helpful. You were running without administrator rights, and it turns out that the installer's test for admin rights is faulty for some versions of Windows so it didn't have write permission and couldn't save the download. I've re-upped a new jumpy-0.2.5.exe which uses a (hopefully :)) more conclusive test.

If you follow the rtmpdump mailing list you know it's something of a soap opera over there :), on top of which github has discontinued download pages for its projects so everything is scrambled up nicely.

I have not tried the new version of jumpy you have just posted, only the version I installed yesterday. Here is the log file from when the jumpy plugin installs, just wondering if it's working correctly. On my PS3 it seems to be working correctly, I can view my xbmc plugins that I have installed on my PC.

The only change is to the installer, not jumpy itself; so you're good. The log output looks normal too.

Is there some way for me to add in the xbmc navi x plugin, it doesn't appear on the list on my PS3. When I use navi x with xbmc om my PC, I have to go to the programs category to load it, it must be a different type of plugin.

Not currently. Jumpy supports XBMC 'addon' plugins, whereas navi-x is a 'script' plugin. There's a 'navix' script for the Channels plugin you can try, though.
