How do I stream to my Kindle Fire?
I installed UMS yesterday (Windows 10, Microsoft Surface Pro 2) and in not too many minutes I had all the media on my computer available on the Roku Stick in the living room. Brilliant! Windows Media Center/Server never did much and when it did, it was painfully slow and difficult to deal with.
Now I'd like to watch a cartoon or two in the bedroom using my Kindle Fire. I can't work it out. I did install VLC which is usually highly cooperative, but so far not for receiving streams on the Kindle from the office computer. All these devices are on the same home network, of course.
The media files are on an external USB 3.0 WD Passport identified to my computer as M: with various paths under that for video, movies, audio, and photos.
Yes. I use one for video (my stuff) and movies (commercial stuff).
The Roku finds them all. Sweet!
How can I help my sad little Kindle Fire to do the same?

Re: How do I stream to my Kindle Fire?
I figured it out. On VLC I did NOT want to select Stream. I needed to select (duh) Local Network.
Everything's lovely.
