Forgot to mention that it works with alpha1.

i have the same problem with all my mkv and avi files.
worked fine in alpha 1, but stopped working since.
the ps3 says the file is 0:00 in length and therefore its not possible to jump to a specific time.
this happens even before opening the file, its "missing" even when browsing the folders there is only a - in the file info under the name
resuming the file still works thou, most of the time.
mp4 files seem to work. once opened the correct time appears and everything works as expected

using win8, java7up25 (32&64bit versions tested)

So i know it might sound silly, but do you have this feature Checked?

I know with Streamed Videos fwd, rewind, pause are possible, but in order to do that with Transcoding videos (moslty with MKV's) this needs to be checked for the PS3.

It was unchecked for me, so I checked this, but it doesn't solve the problem (on 3.0 beta 1). The time is still 00:00:00.

Though, it worked fine with 3.0.0.0 alpha1.

i know that when a video Transcode's for me, i too get 00:00:00 on any one of my devices, including the PS3.

@subjunk im sure you're aware of this feature missing from the latest release right?

With 2.6.5 everything works as expected. But with 3.x (using b1 now) I have for all files (MKV + DVD ISO are my main file types) missing length/duration information in the folders list and also during playback. Therefore it is not possible to fw, rw or jump to specific positions in the video. I assume this is a bug and not a missing feature.

Here are my results:
PS3 - missing length for ISO + MKV
WDTV - missing length for ISO + MKV, but when set MKV as streaming in the renderer config I get the length for MKV at least during playback
Android - missing length for ISO (MKV length available, but it is set to streaming)

Hey guys, although I can't reproduce the problem myself I may have found the problematic piece of code. Trying to fix it now.

Thank you very much for your hard work. I can confirm that it is working now for my PS3 and the android device with the new 3.0.0 build!

but... sadly not for my WDTV. It shows always 00:18:18 as the length and when I try to jump (WDTV can only jump in 00:10:00 steps) the video exits. As this seems to be the case also with 2.6.5 when set to transcoding files I have opened a new posting: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=1296
