2018 Philips Smart/Android TV stops video playback

Hi,

I have a new 55PUS8503/12 Philips Android TV.
I'm trying to play video file from my PC to TV, both of them are wired to a router.

Original settings of UMS tell me that there are no playable files in the folder I specify. After reading some other topics in here, I found somewhere that I should try to force my TV as "Android" device. After this, the TV is seeing the video file.
Unfortunately the playback of the file stops pretty fast, sometimes only after a few second, sometimes after ~10 minutes. Usually after 2-3 minutes.

The TV is capable of playing the file from an USB, but let's face it the whole idea here is not to use USBs, so I would very much like to avoid that.
I have added my TRACE log (hope I did it right).

Additional info:
* installed K-lite prior to fresh install of latest UMS (some older thread suggested this)
* The PC should be powerful enough (i7 3770; 16GB DDR3 ram; 8GB RX 580 video card. UMS running from SSD. Tried to run the file from SSD and form storage HDD)
* TV is brand new, this years mid-high tier model

Hope that you guys and gals can help me out.
Cheers

Can anyone help? Or offer ideas.

Have you enabled #--transcode--# folder functionality? If you do you should find a "no encoding" option in that folder.
If the file can play with no encoding, it means that your TV supports the file natively

I've already tried this. Unfortunately same results.
But as I said, when I run the file from USB stick, then it plays normally, so the TV should support it just fine.

It's not that simple. Playing from USB and playing via DLNA isn't the same thing, and many devices support things via USB that they don't support via DLNA.

Oh, okay then.
But what would it mean then, that it wont play the file with the "no encoding".

Is it a matter of getting UMS settings right, or codecs etc. or is it done deal, and I can't play these video types?

The solution would be that UMS would transcode to a suitable format and it seems that it does that, but you then have dropout issues.
Could it be net/bandwidth related? Do you notice if some files play better than others? Is there any difference in playing 720p vs 1080p?
Have you tried adjusting the transcoding quality settings on transcoding tab?

Unfortunately this does not seem to matter.
I usually use "automatic wired"
But I tested all available options today, and no difference

Hi again all.
Did a complete reinstall of windows 10 lately.
After that installed VLC player and Java 8 and 7.5 UMS

Unfortunately UMS said that there were no playable files at all.

Does the philips conf file work at all?
Is there anythign i'm doing wrong? Eg: worng java, wrong UMS, wrong media player for windows, wrong codecs etc?

I would really like to get this to work.
Any help would be appreciated.

Hi again.
No luck still. I'm now using the 7.7.0 with the specific phipilips PUS conf.
I still get thrown out in the middle of viewing. Some files don't play at all, and 4K files stutter (mostly audio, but video too)

Does the media payer and codecs installed on the PC make a difference? Should I be using something specific?

Thanks!
