[Solved] Transcoding vs. Streaming for Two Files of Same Format/Codec

Post by ajkessel »

I have two video files that have the same container and codec formats. One is marked as streamable (file2.vob), the other (file1.vob) "will not be streamed because it is not supported by the renderer Unknown renderer". I can't figure out what could possibly be different between these two files resulting in the disparate treatment. They should both be streamable to a device like a PS3. I've attached the log showing results for both files. Any suggestions why they are treated differently? Is there a simple fix to make sure they are both streamed?

Running UMS 9.2.0 on an Ubuntu Focal (20.04) system.

That log file is no help, it doesn't show the decision making process. We will need full trace logs.

Upgraded to 9.4.3 and now both files show verdict as "streamed", so whatever it was seems to have been fixed. Sorry for false alarm!
