Network problem

Post by nathenloc1997 »

Hello all,

The program is working fine for me, but I have a problem seeing the server from places connected to my network.
my network is as follows "router and connected to that router is 2 access points "
My renderer is a windows pc that is connected by cable to the main router .
I've got 2 TVs connected to each access point wirelessly.
the thing is I cannot see the icon of my media server at those TVs.

Really appreciate your help

The access points must not also act as routers, they must be "transparent"/"bridged" so that all devices are on the same IP subnet. You cannot share across subnets (not entirely true, but it's complicated to get it to work) and this is a limitation of the UPnP standard, not UMS.

If you are running IOS based equipment, you can forward multicast and UPNP messages by doing the following (IP services license required):

On your VLANs:

Code: Select all

ip pim sparse-dense-mode
In config mode:

Code: Select all

ip forward-protocol udp 1900
