I searched your last log file for "Q850A" and got no matches, was it switched on at the time?

Same with those, I don't see any mention of TCL or Roku in the logs, were they switched off?

Thanks for the log snippets. I really need the full logs though since I look for different things in different places. Can you please make new logs using https://www.universalmediaserver.com/up ... fbd511.exe
This build just has some tweaks to the Sony TV config to stop UMS transcoding 4K and 10-bit videos

NONE of those devices were on in the log previously provided.

I'll run the logs with the new file you just provided with the 6 series TCL Roku now along with testing the Sony! Give me a few minutes!

Been trying a few things and this is quite odd. The SECOND I put it into Trace mode, I can't play ANY videos in the directory UNLESS I select Media Library, then play from there.

Now, if I exit out, they play fine with this build on the Sony.... I'm lost.

/Pictures = Where 3 movies are moved to. In trace can't play. Exit Trace and they play fine!

Here's the log file. Attempted to play the first 2 in /Pictures, failed. "Cannot play video". Went to Media Library /Video /All Videos and they played fine!

What's more confusing, is when I exit the Media Player app, and then try again, it isn't always reliable. I will then force stop the app, clear the data/cache and try again and it either works or doesn't. Trying to see what's going on... I did notice (without playing) clicking Details on the movies doesn't show the width or height..... They only show width/height when it will play. It's like the info isn't being sent.

Restarting the server is the only way to get it to play. Restart again, and it will play or not. Something is wonky on this!

So the one thing consistent is, after it plays, if you restart, it will fail to play. Restart again...Plays.

Here's the log playing in /Pictures and it played fine this time. Haha!

PS: The Sony played the 4K 10bit files fine. I just didn't play them in this log. I played a 720p. But it works now in the new build I just downloaded.

For the TCL's, I exited UMS, started fresh, entered TRACE MODE and selected "force renderer" and "Roku Ultra". Now starting at the first Roku and playing the videos located in /Pictures. Here's the log file!

Played about 3-5 seconds of the same movie on each in the order below. Minus the Sony.

Here's more detailed info so you KNOW which TV is which. All TCL's work with forced renderer Roku Ultra

Sony 50" - X80J - IP Address: 192.168.50.183
TCL Roku 28" - 28S305 - IP Address: 192.168.50.144
TCL Roku 55" - 55S515 - IP Address: 192.168.50.168
TCL Roku 55" - 55R625 - IP Address: 192.168.50.112 <--- Samsung Q850A is on this device via eARC

These are my raw notes from ums_dbg_2021-12-22-19-37.zip from viewtopic.php?p=45008#p45008
It's helpful for me to take the notes as I look into it.

At 2021-12-22 19:36:27.798 your TV introduces itself, but not with any identifiable information, it just says:
{friendlyName=Security TV, address=192.168.50.181, udn=uuid:23456789-1234-1010-8000-F84E1724C9C9, manufacturer=Sony Corporation, modelName=MediaRenderer, modelNumber=100, manufacturerURL=http://www.sony.net/, modelURL=}

It then sends its GetProtocolInfo to us, which is it telling us which filetypes it supports.

At 2021-12-22 19:36:28.800 the TV identifies itself as {friendlyName=Security TV, address=192.168.50.181, udn=uuid:96c90ee4-6768-460a-ad31-090018db9149, manufacturer=Sony Corporation, modelName=KD-50X80J, manufacturerURL=http://www.sony.net/}

(then your Sony XBR says hi, and Samsung Soundbar)

At 2021-12-22 19:36:33.906 the X Series makes a GetSystemUpdateID request, we tell it we are at SystemUpdateID v1.

At 2021-12-22 19:36:34.020 we get a request to stream a video:

Code: Select all

HEAD /get/90/video.mkv HTTP/1.1

HEADER:
  transferMode.dlna.org: Streaming
  getcontentFeatures.dlna.org: 1
  Pragma: getIfoFileURI.dlna.org
  User-Agent: Dalvik/2.1.0 (Linux; U; Android 10; BRAVIA 4K VH2 Build/QTG3.200305.006.S88)
  Host: 192.168.50.153:5001
  Connection: Keep-Alive
  Accept-Encoding: gzip
.
Renderer UUID=uuid:96c90ee4-6768-460a-ad31-090018db9149
Which is strange since we didn't get any browse requests before now, so it seems to indicate the TV is caching responses or IDs, which could explain the strange behavior we are seeing here. It may be because the TV is relying on the Pragma header functionality which we don't use, so it expects us to respond to getIfoFileURI.dlna.org with a URI, but we don't. I'll try to make a build that instructs the TV to not use Pragma headers.
