You could open a bug report with them.
Thanks mate. Had a feeling it wasn't to do with UMS :)

EDIT: Although having said that, any idea why it works perfectly fine on my PC using MPC-HC and works fine using other media server programs like Serviio?

It's probable that the way they wrote their code makes their programs guess the correct framerate.
I can try to workaround the bug in the next version

OK I think it's fixed now. It was actually a bug in MediaInfo, not MKVMerge, by the way :)
You can download the fixed version of UMS here.

I love you. I'll test it out immediately.

EDIT: Ok, while it doesn't slow down as much and as often, there are still slowdowns. =/

Darn. It worked when I tested it. Can you post your debug zip file (Traces -> Pack debug files) using the "fixed" version?

Here you go. I can give you specific times for when it slows down too: 0:12 for a few seconds then again at 0:25 at it stays like that for a while. Could it be that I didn't delete the .conf files in "C:\ProgramData\UMS" when I upgraded to the fixed version?

Perhaps it has something to do with my settings? Do you want a look at those too?

I have just opened a new topic for mencoder.exe of UMS 2.0.0 build, which is not working for me.
I just saw in your debug.log the same 'rc buffer underflow' error message that I saw in my log file.
So maybe your issue is also related to mencoder.exe.
Maybe you can test the 2.0.0 build with mencoder.exe of version 1.6.0, because that one seems to work for me.
At least you will have a workaround then until the issue gets investigated and/or solved...
