Hello,

i have a little problem with the UMS.
The video files on my pc are named by the name of the tv show, e.g.: filename.mkv.
But on the TV (Bravia KDLHX755 or 32W705B) is the name of the encoder, the language and the subtitle (e.g.: [MEncoder] (Audio: English) (Subtitle: English) instead the real filename on the PC.
But i want to see the real filename on the TV and not the name of the encoder and the rest.

How I can solve this problem? Any ideas?
I didn't have this problem with the PMS.

Additional information:

When i delete the UMS configuration file the files on the TV have original names, but then it starts to change the filename into "[MEncoder]" and so on.
So i can't see which episode is it.

Can no one help me?

The only thing I can think of is that you have Prettify filenames enabled ?

The option is on the "Navigation / Share Settings" Tab, in File sorting / naming.

Try unchecking the Prettify filenames option, Save and Restart UMS and see if that solves the problem.

Can you please let us know which version this started happening with?

Prettify Filenames was off. With this Option on or off, the problem stays.

I started with version 5.0.0. I haven't tried lower versions.

My TVs are:

Sony BRAVIA KDL46HX755
Sony BRAVIA 50W805B
Sony BRAVIA 32W705B

On all of These TVs the filenames are not the same like on my PC.
Before i had my new Bravias i have used the ps3 mediaserver with the hx755 and there was no problem with the filenames.

I have the same problem, on WDTV Live. Prettify filenames is off.

Using UMS 4.3.1 on Windows 7.

the problem is started with the version 5.0

I had the same problem since updating to 5.0.
It is not Prettify filenames as I had the option unchecked.

It was only happening to folders I didn't browse before the upgrade. i.e. I accessed New Girl before the upgrade, so after the upgrade the episode numbers were still displayed. The folder for Allegiance was not accessed or existing before the upgrade, after the filename had no episode number. Two episodes of Sleepy Hallow both without episode numbers.

When it occurs it appears to be showing the folder or show name for every file rather than the filenames.

Possible Temporary Solution: Under Navigation/Share settings, disable the Cache.
I've reenabled the cache and tried clearing it. It cleared the problem up on most of the folders on one renderer (nplayer on iphone) but not on another (vimu on firetv stick).

I'll post the logs tomorrow.
