Please try this version: http://www.spirton.com/uploads/UMS/UMS-30f0f20.exe

Also, on a separate note, I have rewritten the Samsung-CD renderer config to use MediaInfo instead of FFmpeg for parsing, so it would be great if people who use that config can test it. Here's a build with the new config: http://www.spirton.com/uploads/UMS/UMS-d9dc5a8.exe

This problem is still present in 5.1.0.
I attached my debug files. Please tell me if I can help otherwise as I would really like this brilliant program to work in the newest version :-)

update: Windows 8 won't let me install your UMS-30f0f20.exe version due to security reasons, even when I try to run as admin?!
update2: found the option to unblock

At first glance, the mp4 seem to play fine in this pre-build!! Thank you!!
I attached another log file of this working version.
This "unknown" device seems to be my laptop, but my Samsung TV now seems fine.
If I don't report back, consider me happy ;-)

Hi SubJunk. I tried UMS-d9dc5a8.exe as I have a Samsung CD. It does now recognize it as mpeg when I hit info but fails to play after some delay (black screen) saying video codec not supported. It is being tagged as using ffmpeg to transcode the file but an mp4 should stream to the Samsung.

Attached the log for this attempt. Will try the UMS-30f0f20.exe version next to see if that works without the renderer change and let you know.

Thanks,

Primus76

Hi SubJunk.

UMS-30f0f20.exe works properly and FFmpeg no longer tries to transcode the mp4. MP4's work on my Samsung now with this release. I only tried a minute of the start of a file. Will test a full show tonight to make sure.

Thanks for the hard work!

Cheers.

I am so glad that you finally pinpoint the problem.

The second link you've given here finally fixed it all. Now all my MP4/MKV files that kept displaying "UNSUPPORTED FILE TYPE" starts playing fine again.

Thank you so much.

I do own a Samsung TV as well. Seems like most people that are having issues are Samsung users.

EDIT: Noticed a new problem now, Samsung TV occasionally disconnect from UMS after playing a few videos.

Provided logs. ( http://pastebin.com/Wd8JGhN1 )

As everyone has stated this version {UMS-30f0f20} fixed the playback issues with .mp4 files.

The video info on Tv shows video/mpeg instead of quicktime .Mov files now.

UMS-d9dc5a8 version works as well, but it does use more memory and takes a little longer to load files compared to UMS-30f0f20.

I'm a Mac user with the same problem on a Samsung TV, the video info on Tv shows video/quicktime instead of video/mpeg.

As you are pasting only Windows executable is there any place where I can get those versions for Mac? Thanks

:? Also having Mac/Samsung specific problems... Any solve for this on the Mac side?

My only functional workaround is to force a transcoding but that has lag, and can't be fast forwarded until the desired position has been transcoded.

Besides that... I LOVE UMS!!! Thank you so much for your attention!
