UMS vs Mitsubushi 84742 wifi

Post by Gareee »

Does anyone know if UMS will see the tv, and if that is then selectable on the tv for viewing, like it does on the PS3?

We are new to the smart tv scene, and I'm trying to figure out what the best setup for streaming to this is befoe it arrives. I'm concerned that streaming 1080p might be too much for the ps3.

Just an update for anyone interested. we have the tv now, and he "smart tv" options are pretty much limited to canned apps they give you access to, like youtube, hulu, netflix, ect. There is no actual medai server browser for your home network, so you basically just rely on UMS and your PS3.

Aparantly this is common in all the larger more expensive hi def screens out there.. its just bundled junk to increase the percieved "value".

I'd expect the TV to be able to browse UMS via DLNA, yea. No need for PS3.
