Version 1.5.1 is released

Post by SubJunk »

General:

You can download it from the front page.

Changes since 1.5.0:
  • General:
    • FFmpeg and FFmpeg/AviSynth engines now use the "Video quality settings" from the "Common transcode settings" page
    • Many improvements to the layout of settings
    • Updated FFmpeg to 8bdba0b (20120914)
    • Updated MPlayer and MEncoder for Windows to SB38, which:
      • Enables more CPU optimisations (runs faster)
      • Improves audio sync
      • Tries to fix very occasional freezing issue
  • Languages:
    • Updated all languages

Upgrade Notes:

For versions prior to 1.5.0:
It is recommended to delete your UMS.conf file prior to installing this version. For Windows users it is in ProgramData/UMS/.

For all versions:
It is recommended (but usually not necessary) to uninstall the older version before installing the new one.

Thanks:

The PMS developers.
glebb for building the OS X version.

hi, thanks for the update and your hard work, i like to point something with this new 1.5.1
i have a standalone media player that can play almost anything
i do sometimes listen to Internet radio and sometimes there are sites that streaming with some kind of format that my media player can not play, so i use UMS and everything use to work just fine until today that updated to 1.5.1 and after that it could no longer play those radio station any longer, i try to check to see if the original server is down but everything works just fine, i tried it with wm player and some other player and also ums on my other computer that is still ruining ums 1.5, so just want to report that this recent update has something to do with this problem, i will give you a few of these sites address, maybe you could try to find out what is wrong, as for me, i just want to report the problem, other wise is not a big deal for me i can always install 1.5 and get by for my needs
here are these stream site address, i will give you a few of them

Thanks for yet another release. I have found this to be the best ever (using LAV codecs, lossless video quality settings, FFMpeg player on WHS (Q9550) to PS3 over Gigabit network). I have found no play back exceptions and everything seems to play smoothly with minimal PS3 reported bandwidth observed to date.

Hi,

Let me first give a BIG thank you for all the effort that the developers put in creating a very nice piece of software.
Great to see things improving with all the new versions.
However, I also want to contribute with a problem that occured for me in version 1.5.1.
I have already isolated it; mencoder.exe of version 1.5.0 works ok, the new one of 1.5.1 gives me audio drop outs and occasional stutter.
In the debug.log it shows like:

Code: Select all

The last line will repeat itself until you eventually stop the playback.
If I run a test with 1.5.1 and only replace mencoder.exe with the one of the 1.5.0 build, it just works fine.

I don't know if this will give you enough info, if not please let me know; I'll be glad to dig in some more or do additional testing.

Thanks for the info, Triplefun, really glad it's working so well for you :)
][V][ and SpeedyQ, thanks for the reports. I think both issues will be fixed in 1.5.2
