Not Working With ZoneAlarm
Hi, I have an issue running Universal Media Server and ZoneAlarm (free version) together. Basically my PS3 and all other devices cannot find the media server if ZoneAlarm is running on the server.
If I close ZoneAlarm then everything works perfectly so I assume that UMS and the network are all configured correctly. As soon as I open ZoneAlarm though, the PS3 looses the connection to the media server.
I have followed lots of posts from various forums to try and configure ZoneAlarm to allow the traffic but nothing has worked.
Here's the part that I don't understand. I left ZoneAlarm open and then "snoozed the firewall for 5 minutes" but the PS3 still couldn't find the media server. I then turned both the Basic Firewall and Application Control off so ZoneAlarm was just open but not actually doing anything and the PS3 still couldn't find the media server. As soon as I quit the ZoneAlarm application though, the PS3 finds the media server.
I have also tried other media servers such as Plex and PS3 Media Server and the exact same thing happens. Has anyone had this issue with ZoneAlarm?

I have been having the same issue.
I tried adding the specific IP address + range to the trusted zone, but no luck. I added the javaw.exe to the trusted zone, also no luck.
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks.

Comodo Firewall is much better. I was able to allow all applications that UMS uses.
Once Comodo is running, quit UMS and restart it. Comodo will ask you to allow about 4/5 applications. Done.
