Stream to Windows 7 PC from Linux PC

Post by tmoney »

I have a Windows 7 PC connected to a A/V Receiver w/ speakers (coaxial digital audio). I would like to stream sound/music from a Linux PC, or a smartphone to that Windows 7 PC to play sound/music. Is this supported by UMS? How would I do this? I was expecting a configuration menu that pushes sound from the Linux pc (client) to Win7 PC (server). :?
Thanks in advance. T

If you are streaming from your Linux pc, then that pc would be running UMS and would be the "server". On you Windows pc, at minimum you should be able to open a browser and go to the IP.of.your.UMSserver:9001 to see your content. Otherwise run a DLNA or Upnp compatible client program on you Windows pc (couldn't tell you any, I don't run windows :D )
