OS X Memory Leak V5.*_J*

Post by michaelt »

This provides more testing details from the post in the Mac forum.

The first log is of a 21.4 GB file. Inactive Memory:
  • 1 h - 9.8 GB
    2 h - 16.5 GB
    End (2 h 33 m) - 20.5 GB
It recovered <100 MB on exit and logout. Reboot required.

The second log is of 3.24 GB file, Inactive Memory:
  • 30 m - 2.3 GB
    End (56 m) - 3.3 GB
There may be a correlation between file size or time and Inactive Memory. I will try another around 12 GB later & repost.

During this capture additional issues arose which may be seen in the same log files:
- admin privilege required for incoming connection
- no thumbnails

Other issues will be posted as separate topics.

Tested 5.1.0 Java 6

Same problem with Inactive Memory not being released. It is proportional to the size of the video file.

Going to look at Java 8 too.

Log provided if requested.
