"those 2 modifications" should basically be the same changes as the Samsung-J.conf in this thread.

Hi,

When I use UMS 5.3.1 to stream video with external subtitle to a Sony TV it works just fine. I can choose the font size and color to be displayed.

But when I try to use a Samsung J5500 TV I can´t get subtitles color other then white. Does anyone has a configuration file for Samsung J5500 that allows change the subtitle font color?

I'm not sure why, but I don't think susbtitle styling is applicable when muxing.
It works with mencoder/ffmpeg because the video gets transcoded, and that way the subs get "burned in" to the video output.

Hello there,

Please forgive my ignorance, I managed to find this topic through Google.

I just recently bought a Samsung UE48JU7500 Series TV and have been having a look at the DLNA features this TV has.

Because my AMP is not 4K capable I have plugged my devices into the TV and using ARC to relay all the audio to the amp. The TV is set to BitStream and Dolby Digital as the format - you can choose PCM/DTS/Dolby Digital from the TV's menu. I usually use MediaPortal on the PC as my choice for all my Movies/TV playback - I use the Audio Renderer that MediaPortal has and that converts everything in surround to Dolby Digital so the above setting on the TV works perfectly.

Now when I've played about with the DLNA on the TV, anything that has Dolby Digital already works absolutely fine, but anything with DTS Audio just comes out as PCM 2CH unless i go into the TV's menu and change it to DTS. To make life easier it would be nice to use something like UMS to transcode the audio only from DTS to AC3 - is that possible using this profile as you said Transcoding is not possible using this TV in your OP? Obviously the Video doesn't need transcoding as the TV can natively play most formats.

I tried playing about with it in Serviio as I found a blog where somebody had a simple configuration that converted any file with DTS in it to AC3 and just muxed the video out but my Samsung TV just said it couldn't play that content with that config so I ended up throwing in the towel last night.

And then I came across this post for UMS and I see UMS has a plethora or transoding options so I dont know if I will be able to achieve this functionality with UMS?

Would be great if you could assist me.
