How to Map UMS to a folder location in MyBookWorld

Post by Andy@Sony »

Hi

I have downloaded UMS on to my Ubuntu Desktop and set it up to map to my Sony Bravia TV which uses a wireless bridge. This was all successful and it saw my TV without problem. In the Navigation and Shared Folder Drive, I have tried to point the UMS to the folder location on my NAS Drive, but it is not recognising the location using the smb://mybookworld syntax.

Is there a way of pointing the UMS to a folder location on MyBookWorld?

Thanks

I'm afraid you'll have to mount the drive somehow, URI's are not accepted as folder arguments. If you have to use a URI, you might get it to work by configuring WEB.conf, but I don't know anything about how or if that works.

How do you add that folder to UMS? You have to use the UMS GUI and at the Navigation/Share Settings tab click in the section Shared Folders on the icon folders and in the dialog choose the folder you want. So the smb://mybookworld folder must be visible as a folder in your OS otherwise the UMS will not accept that.

EDIT: as usual Nadahar was faster then me :-)
