Sony Bravia TV does not see UMS, please help!

I have a Windows 10 (64 bit) PC and a SONY BRAVIA KDL-55NX720.
The Bravia can see the computer, but not UMS.
-also, it only sees only the Videos directory and I have all of my content stored on a second drive (no room on OS drive)
-the point being, I have verified the Bravia Is capable of playing content from my computer.. just not through UMS
UMS can see the Bravia, claims connection to it, but cannot initiate playback of a file.
-one attempt played the latest file
I have tried installing the newest version of UMS, as well as an older version I found on another thread. No luck with either
I currently have Universal Media Server Version 6.1.0 installed

I have previously used UMS with this TV from a different computer with perfect success (perhaps not with Windows 10, I honestly cannot remember)

Please help me to fix this! I loved the simplicity of UMS the last time I used it and have not been able to find another server that works well with the Bravia

could it be a firewall thing ?

try to add ums and java in your windows firewall.

So is it finding all the content that you want it to? if not try manually adding the folders you want to share under the "Navigation/Share settings" tab

if it is then i'd suggest forcing a default renderer and choosing your tv model or changing the .conf file for the tv to something similar like a similar model

Try doing a factory reset on your Sony Bravia.
