Thanks for the new release!

This version fixes a problem with external .ass subtitles and complex overlays and text that had existed with FFmpeg (the text disappears too fast or doesn't display). So far, the overlays display correctly in the files I've tried to the point that I can uncheck "Defer to Mencoder" in the FFmpeg settings tab.

The new FFmpeg also works with anime with embedded fonts, as well!

Great work!!

Edit: This version/FFmpeg also plays an mkv that had subs which previous versions would have unfixable A/V sync issues.

There are guides for setting up AviSynth and they should work. Basically you need to set up codecs (I recommended K-Lite) and make sure our version of AviSynth is installed (which is SEt's multithreaded version of 2.6) which is included with the UMS Windows installer.

The newer version have serious audio sync problems transcoding to PS3..
I don't know why, but I even had to revert back to 4.4.0 (from 6.2.1 to 5.4.0 to 4.4.0) to get a few video's working correctly 6.2.1 and 5.4.0 both had the problem.
I'm always using mencoder, but ffmpeg also seemed to have the same problem.
the video plays, but the audio lags a few seconds behind.

I have practically default settings:
mencoder (settings from 4.4.0, and just updated to 6.2.1 without changing settings, and also back to 4.4.0):
-A/V sync alternative method ON
-remux videos with tsmuxer when possible ON
I've added the mediainfo information of 2 files which seem to have the problem

<edit> it appears the file of the Abyss which I had used as an example is fubar in itself, it was originally out of sync, but the other one really was correct

I have a problem.

When I start UMS a window pop up that there is an upgrade but I have no permissions to change the install folder.

There is a red X on top right of the window but I can not even close that window.

I have to kill the UMS process in Task Manager.

When I download the new version it installs without any problem.

What is wrong here?

You must be running UMS with administration rights in order for that feature to work.
