Status of PS4 issues (forwarding/subtitles/etc)

So, can anyone share the status of the main issues regarding UMS-PS4 integration?

I just downloaded the last version of UMS and as of now, it seems to me that whenever there is any Transcoding taking place, there is no FF or RW, which is pretty bad, since you can't even stop playing and resume later.

And, as some suggested, if you don't use Transcoding (which seems to help with FF/RW) - no subtitle support.

So, as of now, UMS is no option for me.

Anyone has a clue if these issues will be dealt with (by Sony or UMS team) any time soon? Thanks

I found that the PS4 does support streamed .srt subtitles. I added

to the PS4.conf file to make it work. That allows you to FF/RW videos and have basic subtitles. The PS4 doesn't seem to like .ass subtitles.

The transcoding issue, I believe, is a failing of the PS4 media player as I can transcode to my PS3, stop, and restart. They really need a "Go To' feature on the PS4 as that's what I use on the PS3 to avoid the FF/RW issues when transcoding.

Sony needs to fix the transcoding issue, and who knows when that might be.

um, its not a ps4 issue since they didnt update and UMS did .

as stated earlier , it worked fine .

then a few days ago, UMS updated .

now it doesnt work .

You mean if I jsut play the file, without UMS transcoding it, will it add the subtitles?

Where did you add that config to?
