New install of Win 10 x64, UMS not detecting PS4...

Post by goombakid »

I dunno why, but every time I reinstall UMS or update it with a clean install, it stops working.

I just recently did a clean install of Win10 x64. I also installed Java 8 for x64 and the java 8 version of UMS.

I've already tried the following:
Uninstall UMS and java.
Reinstalled Java 7 x64 and UMS7. (didn't work)
Uninstalled both, ran CCleaner.
Reinstalled Java 8 x64 and UMS8. (didn't work)
Opened up firewall exceptions to UMS (nope)
Tried some other settings in file sharings (nope)

Attached is my debug files. I don't remember what I did the last time to make it work, but I'm hoping someone can please help me out.

hi i saw your debug file and i've found this: Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM 1.8.0_91 32-bit by Oracle Corporation
INFO 2016-07-04 19:31:24.816 [main] OS: Windows 10 64-bit 10.0.

as you can see in there your system is a windows 10 64 bit but the java is showing that is 32bits, go here http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/ ... 33155.html and download the 8.92 version x64 is the lastest official version and download the java 8 of the ums 6.40, but install java first before the ums reset your Windows 10 after this install the ums 6.4.0 java 8. maybe this could help you. don't install more than one java in your system all you need is the latest one to be fully secured and with the most recent additions.

I'm not sure it matters much if it's 64bit java. On a 64bit OS, You can have both 32bit and 64bit installed.
Also it's not UMS's firewall rules you have to look at ..it's the Java engine that will make the calls.

I would try to disable Windows firewall entirely just to pinpoint/rule out any problems there.
