Only transcode video of 10-bit depth (hi10p)

Post by raspiman »

Sorry if this question has been asked before but I could not find a thread with an answer. I have a media library that has both both 8-bit and 10-bit video files. The device I want to play these files on can easily handle the 8-bit videos as it is hardware decoded. It can't play the 10-bit ones for obvious reasons. I am wondering if there is a way to only transcode the 10 bit files. The only options I see for the config file are for extension only and they are all of the .mkv extension. Is there a parameter or something I can do to make this work?

There was a recent discussion on the topic, the short version: not yet.
