Avisynth Location Problems?

Post by zentunnel »

Hi all,

PLEASE READ JUST THE BOLD WORDS IF YOU WANT TO SKIP THE STORY..

This is my first time working with UMS. I consider myself saavy enough to know how to get it to run and transcode and all that stuff. I can get it to work, but not work the way i want it to. Here's what i'm doing right:

Install UMS to C:
Install Avisynth to C:
Play (Transcode using Avisynth\Mencoder with Interpolation) [FFMpeg is giving me problems when working with avisynth, idk what's going on except that it returns ERROR OF 1]

This is good, but I have paranoia, maybe you guys can calm me down.

I done interpolation and SVP in the past, even encoding as well, Avisynth location is rather important (it always has to be in the program files folder). I honestly don't mind this, but it's the fact that my program files is on an SSD, does that affect the read and write a lot? Should I not worry about it?

I really want everything to be on my HDD, but it gives me problems when i attempt that, especially when avisynth is installed in a different location.
