Subtitle help

Post by Levitj121 »

I am using UMS with my ps3 as a media server for my CRT television, which naturally has a bit of overscan, as such some of the subtitles end up cut off on the sides. Is there any way to adjust for this? I've tried turning the font size down and it still ends up cut off and is hard to read.

Have you tried to adjust the margin in subtitle settings?

Doesn't it just adjust the distance of the subtitles from the bottom of the screen?

There's no logs, it has to do with my TV's natural overscan, just wondering if I can adjust some setting in UMS to remedy it.

I think it also applies to the sides too but is not something I have tried.

That is the only thing I can think of unless you can adjust the overscan on your TV. All CRTs have an adjustment of some sort for overscan but depending on how old it is it might be a physical adjustment on the circuit board instead of in the on screen settings.
