Forum CLEANUP suggestion
Forum CLEANUP suggestion
As i see there are a lot of topics which have already been resolved in the Help and Feature request threads.
I would be willing to help with cleaning up in here - like closing solved topics and prefixing the subject with [SOLVED] or [CLOSED] for example.
Just send me a PM if i can help somehow
UMS is a more than great product and the forums are a nice place to get help or suggest new features. We should try to prevent unnecessary new issues and feature requests by providing FAQ-like overviews and closing old topics.
This will help the developers focus on their work on UMS and not loose too much time answering questions which have already answered

Hi nicomess, sure that sounds great. I agree we need better organization. It would also be helpful to me to have you guys remind people to follow these instructions when they are asking for support if they didn't do it, because that's often my first post to them.
If you're still interested in helping out, let me know and I'll promote you

Re: Forum CLEANUP suggestion
A good idea to implement is besides opening a thread for new versions' announcement, also open a parallel one on the support forum for the users to contribute their logs and issues (and include the thread link in main announcement body, besides the download links).
I'm not fan of deleting old posts,as they provide history of issues and tips. If the goal is to avoid old threads to be revived, why not lock them instead?
BTW, any chances of upgrading the phpbb engine to the latest 3.1.x series? (plenty of performance and features improvements on the latest branch viewtopic.php?f=15&t=1425 )
Thx, Wolf

Re: Forum CLEANUP suggestion
maybe we should start over.
Delete all
ums users can up load their debug to separate section based on version number
when user test ums we need a checklist on what is working and what not
i know 4.31 work on dvd iso files but 4.40 doesnt no audio
i know certain pics doesn't get transcoded
i know the onion doesnt transcode
Isnt the ultimate goal is to trancodes everything to your render
WE need organization
