[Solved] Stuttering video
I have stuttering video. I am streaming from my desktop to a ps3 through a linksys wrt54g router. I looked in the FAQ which appears to be outdated. It says:
How can I stop videos from stuttering?
Usually this is due to wireless connections being too slow. To make the videos use less bandwidth you can go to the Transcoding Settings tab and select a new value in the "Video quality settings" option. Try moving down the list (don't forget to click Save before testing) until your video plays smoothly.
I cannot find a video Quality settings anywhere? Where do I make this adjustment?
Thanks Tom

Re: Stuttering video
Thanks for posting thomast77, The place in the settings your looking for is under the tab 'Transcoding Settings', make sure you have 'Common Transcode Settings' on the left hand side selected (should be by default). Then on the left you have 'Misc Settings'. Change the 'Transcoding Quality' to Wireless but you can play around with it to find your best setting. But i think you will have to transcode all your videos to do that (Under the tab Navagation/Share Settings Tab, untick the 'Hide The "Transcode" Folder, then goto your video, Select the transcode folder then select the transcode engine you want to play the video (i use MEncoder, but ffmpeg works fine as well)). I could be wrong but i'm sure someone can correct me

Re: Stuttering video
Is that the drop down next to "mpeg-2 options"?

Hi thomast77, welcome to the forum
A couple of expansions on Optimus' answer:
1) The "Wireless" transcoding option is only available in the 3.0 releases, so make sure you are using that (link)
2) You shouldn't need to manually select the transcode folder; it will be handled automatically. The files that need to be transcoded will be transcoded, and the ones that are compatible with your renderer should fit the bandwidth limit anyway. Even 1080p downloads should stream fine on wireless connections
