Multiple audio formats in MKV
Some shows I... acquire... start off with a recap which is in stereo, and then the stream switches to 5.1 for the actual show (both AC3.) I can see this happen in VLC for instance.
But when I play through UMS on my PS3, I get stereo all the way through. I can't find evidence that the main content has multiple audio streams (one stereo and one 5.1) so is this the PS3 forcefully downmixing to stereo, or is UMS transcoding? Near as I can tell my settings are just remuxing. Is there anything magical that can be done to get this to work, short of using tsMuxer or something to make a new copy chopping off the first minute or so of the stereo recap section?

Re: Multiple audio formats in MKV
Use "Keep AC3....." in UMS GUI so audio will not be transcoded so 2.0-->5.1 switching will work on your PS3.

Re: Multiple audio formats in MKV
Hmm looks like that's already on here (Common Transcode Settings, Audio Settings tab right?)

It should work with MEncoder or FFMPEG as stated in post. Try yourself.
