Certain MKVs won't play above version 2.6.5 (Xbox 360)
Greetings all. I'm hoping someone can help me out. Problem is, on any version of UMS above 2.6.5, certain MKVs that I have refuse to play on the 360 with any of the rendering engines. They work perfectly fine on my PS3 however. I've tried all of the 3.0.0 alpha versions as well as the new b1 version and it's still the same issue. I did however just figure out that the files will play with the VLC engine. Problem with that is the subtitles are being forced when using that engine and I'd rather not have to disable subtitles completely.
Any help is appreciated with either of these problems. I've attached my debug log.

I believe this issue is being looked at by the developers, Continue to run the latest builds and stay tuned for future builds to potentially resolve your issue.

Bumping this because the problems persist in the latest 3.0.0 release except now the VLC engine will not play the files. Also UMS no longer detects 64-bit VLC installs when the 3.0.0 b1 version did. I had to install a 32-bit version to test with.
Here's a new debug log

Where would I find the VLC log?

I'm assuming wherever you installed VLC, it could be different for everyone.

Hi Glimmer,
Can you please post debug info for 2.6.5 when trying to play the same file? Thanks
Also with VLC, I have been having problems with VLC 2.1.0 so maybe it was their update that broke it? Try downgrading to an earlier version of VLC

Re: Certain MKVs won't play above version 2.6.5 (Xbox 360)
Same problems on the new 3.1.0 version. Also I never did find a physical log file for VLC.
Anyway, here's the debug log of the file playing on version 2.6.5 with FFmpeg and MEncoder
It was actually VLC 2.1.0 that I had installed originally when it was actually playing the files with UMS 3.0.0 b1 but before the subtitle fix in the UMS 3.0.0 release version. It was the 64-bit version I had installed though. After 3.0.0, UMS no longer detected the 64-bit install so I installed the 32-bit version which was detected but would no longer play the files. It's also been my observation that the Xbox 360 will not play any MKV's with UMS after version 2.6.5 except for that brief moment when the VLC engine played them on version 3.0.0 b1.Also with VLC, I have been having problems with VLC 2.1.0 so maybe it was their update that broke it? maybe files are broken ?
You could allways redownload them, or checksum them

Between 2.6.5 and 3.0.0 I tried to add support for faster and higher quality transcoding, and had confirmation from a user that it worked so I hope it wasn't broken since then.
Could you please try with 3.1.0 and set the maximum audio channels to 5.1 on the Transcoding Settings tab?
