how to get ums to boot progam on window 8

i have the program to boot but only the process boots how do i get the actual program to boot with windows so i can open it because if i open it manually then it opens 2 programs since the other service is being used

Do not launch as a service, create a shortcut under "startup" folder.

should work.

Otherwise create a windows task, and your trigger is "on startup"

Running as a service is mainly for headless NAS or Headless OS (think...windows datacenter edition...) and was a good option a while ago but really should be practiced unless you understand that when you do run as a service the service will always take precedence to stream over the when you run the app.
