PS3 Works, but not AAC/AVI on Android

Hello all,

I'm very new to this media server capability, so I apologies for my apparent "dumbness"!

I have been using PS3 Media Server in order to watch AVI Movies from my Windows 7 PC to my PS3, which worked a treat.
Since then I upgraded to UMS because of its iTunes support (which I love btw, the virtual folders and playlist format is great!)

I did the default install, and haven't changed anything accept for choosing the folders that I want the server to broadcast (much like the PS3MS).
Currently the PS3 works a treat still, with all of it... iTunes AAC/MP3, Movies that are in AVI, all my JPEG Pictures etc (so I have no problems there).

However, my question is about Android devices...
I have a Sony Xperia T Mobile and will be purchasing a Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet once available.
But I have noticed I can access the same Music/Pictures/Video from the UMS (which is great too...), but not all files formats can be played on my phone.

I am using the default Sony "Album" "Movies" "Walkman" apps, and all files are viewable like the PS3, but the following cannot be played on my Android phone:
AAC Tracks (MP3 tracks ones work fine)
AVI Movie files (JPEG pictures work fine)

Now fixing this is where I get lost... I know this UMS Software can "transcode on the fly" and therefore enable devices to play unsupported files formats.
However according to the Sony "White Paper" Specifications, both of these android devices definitely support AVI? And AAC (but don't quote me on AAC).

Can anybody give me a heads up what I have to do with either the config files or transcoding on the fly? Point me to a reference place on this forum maybe?
Or being that my phone supports these file types, as anybody had this problem before?

Extra Information:
I have not got any debug logs, due to the fact the UMS is working perfect (obviously), its just adjusting it to work with my Android Phone.
I'm setup in the "Wireless" System format, this is due to the PS3/Bravia TV being wired to my EE router, but the Android devices work wireless and my laptop is upstairs (again wireless connection).

Any help would be great, as knowing I can further expand this media server for all my devices is ace!

Right I've done ALOT of reading and have downloaded the Notes++ in order to adapt the Android Config File to transcode, as all file types are set to "force stream".

However, I cannot edit the .conf file even with Notes++!!!

I says the file is in use by another program even though the UMS is shutdown. I tried a reboot with the UMS non-starting, but still same error.

How can I change this file!?!

If you cannot open the conf file, you may open it with some text editor in Administrator mode, but I suggest you check file Properties first and make sure the ownership is assigned to your current profile user.

Just an update:

I haven't had time to build a specific Conf File for my Xperia T yet... But I'm getting something else happen.

I was using the TV Side View App (for TV control between Sony TV and my phone) and it does see the Media Server.

I tried playing one movie, and it worked... Then that was it, after stopping it it doesn't work again, either using Sony Movies or TV App, yet they see the files but still display (File Type Not Supported).

I find this message false, due to the fact it clearly can play, and after checking the Support File Types for this phone, it does support AVI/MP4 and AAC.

Has anyone developed a Xperia T Conf File at all? I'm struggling to understand if I need one due to this event...
