Install each in separate directories so you can isolate one for NON-DTS and one for DTS

hell when you install set it up as c:\program files (x86)\nondts\ums and one as c:\program files (x86)\dts\ums

then run both and see what's up, you might have to get some pointers form a few of the Dev's here on how to name each so you know which one is which on the XMB

its just really strange that building separate conf files didnt work. Maybe subjunk might have a more appropriate solution for your needs.

hey also... just throwing this out there... is your OS x64? and is your Java 7 also x64?

It's WHS 2011 x64 with Java x64.

What I have now is two copies of UMS in separate directories. I modifies the wrapper.conf file to point each copy to it's own profile as well as changed the service display name so that I can tell which one is what version.

To be able to tell each one apart on my renderers I put the name= into each conf file and gave them names. This works well for the PS3, but doesn't work so well for the HR24 boxes cause the name Universal Media Server is to long to display the [name] at the end.

I tried to modify the xml file in the jar to change the display name to just UMS which worked, but it then loses the name assigned in the conf file.

So rename it to UMS1, and UMS2.

I'm still trying to visualize your layout too, you have two receivers, and connected to each of those is an HR24 and a tv. One receiver is DTS and the other is non dts.

Now are you calling an A/V receiver a receiver, or the HR24 box a receiver?

I was trying not to rename the display name in .xml file and use built in method of the name = option in the conf file.

I have 5 DirecTV receivers that I use throughout the house. I have 1 PS3 that is direct connected to a A/V Tuner and drives my home theatre.

Ok so you have like the same setup as i do.

The standard install no need to modify anything will make your directv receivers (mediashare) work, and still be able to pass DTS to the PS3.

I packed my UMS and WEB conf files in that.

Please keep in mind though the nature of MediaShare there is a screensaver that times out at 5 minutes and cannot be disabled ; per a conversation with Directv on twitter.

I've tried for hours to get it to run with the embedded DTS set to true. But the minute I set UMS to keep DTS in the audio transcode section my DTV boxes stop working. Media Share doesn't even play with out Audio. It will try to start, go to a black screen then drop back to the satellite signal. Here is a clean debug of UMS set to keep DTS.

I do use the conf file that you have in the other thread and it works fine as long as that option is not checked.

Here is the debug of the working profile. The only difference is the embedded DTS. As well as the two conf files I'm using.

Have you tried the CONF file i made in the Directv thread with default settings for a single instance of UMS?

Yep. I started with just trying to get the DirecTV to work. I've tried it from different machines as well. Each time I have to set that to False for the HR24's to work. The default settings for UMS is to have it set to False already. It was when I added the DTS in and connected my PS3 that the issue came up.
