from the same computer that your hosting UMS from, can you PING your PS3?

I want to rule out a network issue from that PC (UMS HOST) to PS3

Can you try the 3.0.0 alpha and beta versions? Then we can see when the bug first appeared. You will need to clean install each time

i've done the test and the problem started with version alpha1 for me.
