No luck here with the DirecTV rendererer.

I'm seeing the transcoding start, then a start play event followed by a stop play event, but the video never starts playing (just a black screen). Here is the excerpt of the log:

Partial logs are of limited use. I recommend you use the last stable release instead of the beta code and attach the full debug info

I'm using V1.6, is that a beta version? I'll grab clean logs and post them here.

The log you posted was using MEncoder SB41, but 1.6.0 comes with SB37, so you were either running a beta version or you replaced MEncoder (which is the same as running a beta version)

Are there any settings in UMS to get playback via MediaShare to work with audio currently? I tried a few changes in the transcoding options but without success.

I have a HR34-700, AKA Genie.

Another update. I tried changing "MediaInfo" to false, to force everything to be transcoded. I'm getting the video to play through the DirecTV HRxx box, but there is no sound (tried two different videos). Here are the logs:

I think the key might be this:

-lavcopts autoaspect=1:vcodec=mpeg2video:acodec=ac3:abitrate=448:threads=8:keyint=5:vqscale=1:vqmin=2:vrc_maxrate=4000:vrc_buf_size=1666

The videos I've been able to play on DirecTV have had MPEG-1 layer-2 audio, not AC3. Is it possible to change the option above to be acodec=mp2

I can get both video and audio on DirecTV HRxx. I had to do the following
- change MediaInfo=false
- add the following to the expert settings of mencoder to override AC3 as the audio codec
acodec != mp2 :: -lavcopts acodec=mp2:abitrate=384

I'm having some issues with video/audio sync, as well as transcoding some files DVD files (.vob) --> according to the log, they are just getting streamed using mplayer, instead of first being converted using mencoder.

Using the mentioned tweaks, I got it to work with sound! Resolution is a bit off but I'm able to change the format output on the TV itself. Thanks!

Next step, which might be technically impossible, any way to get RW/FF etc to work?
