To use GitHub you can just create an account, our repository is all open so anyone can comment, make issues, contribute code, anything like that.
Setting up a development environment is one step further and isn't needed in order to contribute on GitHub, but if you want to, I think our most up-to-date docs are at https://github.com/UniversalMediaServer ... r/BUILD.md however our documentation is always pretty patchy so you've been warned

No need to apologize, I´m finding it great! I work in an IT environment myself (project management of a large scale streaming media application, so bugfinding, reproducing & bugfixing is my bread and butter. I´m glad to help).

I´m really sorry I didn´t post any update on my situation for a few days, my family and I left for a short vacation. I´ll be back home in 2 days and try to test further.
