Are you having any video/audio sync issues?

Not in the two videos I tried.

Could you post your detailed logs? I'd like to understand what is causing my audio/video to be out of sync.

I forgot to mention that I also had to change it from 6 channels (5.1) to 2 channels (Stereo) in the Common Transcode Settings to avoid an error and allow playback. It may or may not matter that I have one of the new HR34 HD-DVRs.

CONFIRMED:

I can get both video and audio on DirecTV HRxx. I had to do the following
- change MediaInfo=false
- add the following to the expert settings of mencoder to override AC3 as the audio codec
acodec != mp2 :: -lavcopts acodec=mp2:abitrate=384

How do you make the change to the actual Directvhr.conf file, I can edit it in Notepad but I get access denied when i try to save.. the service is not running either..
Also for the acodec change, does that change the rates for all render devices ?

Just sick of the video but no audio on my Directv receiver so just checking on this if it does work.

Do you have the file marked as read only for some reason? I have no issues w/ editing the file whether UMS is running or not. Check file permissions and update as required.

The acodec change will be reflected on all devices. To make things only available on DirecTV, I think we will need some changes in the source code, but SubJunk would be better to comment on that.

Hi, chiming in to see if anyone has ideas on my issue.

I have two HR24/500 receivers, and both give me the same results.

Per the previous posts in this thread:
I have set the Maximum Audio Channels to 2 Channels.
I have added acodec != mp2 :: -lavcopts acodec=mp2:abitrate=384 to the mencoder expert settings.

At this point, as expected, I get a start event, followed pretty quickly by a stop event.

I change MediaInfo=false to get everything working.

After making that change, the videos appear on my DirecTV receiver with an X next to them, and won't even try to play. I also get "Play all" and "Shuffle all" controls at the top of the list, which makes me think that the receiver thinks they're audio files instead of video files.

After making that change, the videos appear on my DirecTV receiver with an X next to them, and won't even try to play. I also get "Play all" and "Shuffle all" controls at the top of the list, which makes me think that the receiver thinks they're audio files instead of video files.

Those new Play All and Shuttle All options appear to have been added in UMS 2.2.1 and they created the same issue for me. I'm unable to play files in 2.2.1. Downgrading to 2.2.0 worked for me and restored the functionality.

That definitely helped. Thanks for the reply. Now just need to do some tuning.

Was getting very bad A/V sync issues, after playing for a while, it was 10-20 seconds off. Then I turned off A/V sync alternative method in mencoder settings, and that helped.

Now, I can play for about 30 seconds before I get the max bitrate error on my receiver. Should be able to figure that out with some poking,

Very impressed with how people are taking over some of the troubleshooting.

Unfortunately due to some punk kids in the neighborhood I had to convert my ums to a dvr for cameras..

Once I can get more cash and build my ums server ill revisit this.


Also to note I did upgrade my dvr to the new genie so I really want to test that and get ums to read from it...
