I can not watch my youtube subscriptions with UMS 3.1. They appear as a selection but my renderer (Bravia 5500) fails with error message when trying to play them. I do not use pmsencoder.

It seems the file name is incorrectly handed to ffmpeg.

hello ppl. i'm new to ums and this plugin. I installed ums, when i tried to install channels plugin nothing happened. rr ums, and in the log file there was end error during processing pmsencoder. reinstalled many times, nothing happened. I removed pmsencoder from plugins directory, the channel plugin installed succesfully, but when i select icefilms and go to a tv show the only available source in 180upload which never plays (i think it has capcha). I tried from ps3 and an lg smart tv, the result was the same. When i tried the same episode from either the webpage or xbmc, i saw multiple sources. Any suggestions?

tachav - IceFilms hasn't been updated for a while. So it most probably doesn't work. For example 180upload was the only one I thought was good enough before so thats why you only see 180 links.

Larkin - pls enable Channels debug as well (channels.debug = true in UMS.conf or use the gui) and redo your test and upload the new logs.

Ok. Here are the logs with channels debug.

Larkin - You get an error "Das System kann den angegebenen Pfad nicht finden" I suspect that your youtube-dl.bat script is not found. Channels looks in "C:\Program Files (x86)\Universal Media Server\scripts" I suspect that it should be C:\Program Files (x86)\Universal Media Server\extras\scripts

so modify the line
youtube-dl.path = C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Universal Media Server\\scripts
to
youtube-dl.path = C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Universal Media Server\\extras\\scripts

modify this as well
pmsencoder.script.directory = C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Universal Media Server\\scripts
to
pmsencoder.script.directory = C:\\Program Files (x86)\\Universal Media Server\\extras\\scripts

youtube-dl.bat is located in "c:\Program Files (x86)\Universal Media Server\scripts\" and there is no folder extras\scripts !

I took a look at youtube-dl.bat and it includes the line

Code: Select all

extras\Python27\python.exe %str% "-g" %1
Two problems here :
1. I had no python27 folder in extras, just a file pepy.zip. I unzipped in hope that it will work with a valid python27 folder but still it fails.
2. It seems that "extras\Python27\python.exe ..." is causing the error message using a relativ path which is not found.

The current structure is

extras\python27\python.exe
scripts\youtube-dll.bat

I made no manual install.

What shall I try next ? Thanks for trying to help.

Remove the pepy.zip file and reinstall channels. It might have been an old failed install the does bad stuff.

I removed pepy.zip and reinstalled channels with the gui. Now I have a new pepy.zip but it is still unpacked and youtube is of course not working as youtube-dl.bat is asking for python.exe which does not exist. I installed in win7 admin mode.

I unzipped pepy and tried again but it still fails.
