hi there,
so i installed the universal media server, and i installed the channel plugin in the ui. then i copied someguys conf, and i pasted it in mine.
when i go on my ps3, and i click on universal media server, there are no channels there. its only my hdd, and the web folder. if i try to view a movie in the web folder everything works fine.
ive tried changing the channel path but still the problem is still here.
heres my debug file

There is some issue with the movie you're trying to stream.

SharkHunter wrote:No it's a bit tricky and until we get the improved plugin installer in place it will stay that way :(. However there isn't anything that can't be workedaround :). Do like this
1) Install the latest PMS-SHB (http://code.google.com/p/sharkhunter-sh ... e&can=2&q=)
2) Install UMS
3) From the PMS-SHB install folder copy the directory called "extra" and place it in the UMS install folder instead.
4) Copy everything from the plugins folder of PMS-SHB to the plugins folder of UMS
5) Edit the UMS.conf to reflect your paths.
At least these line should be added:

Code: Select all

channels.path=extras\\channels
channels.debug = true
pmsencoder.script.directory=extras\\scripts
Actually, there already is a directory called "extras" in UMC. Overwrite it? Well, I did.

The 3 lines of code.... where do they go? At the end? Where? Separated by anything? Confused.

Bottom line is that I just want NaviX to work with this if possible. I was able to see it in "Channels" (well, I actually have 2 Channels installed now), but pretty much next to no entries are available. NaviX headings / categories are there, but just a lot of "add to favorites" and not much access to content.

Doesn't matter anywhere in the UMS.conf will do. Each on a separate line is enough.

Try and restart UMS. I've seen this sometimes. As for NaviX it huge and some stuff doen't play while other plays perfectly..

Thx Shark... good to know it's just not me. So was I supposed to overwrite that file like I said? I mean it seemed to work in terms of folders showing up. And the code additions were of course easy. I just saw so many dividing lines in there, I thought that maybe a certain format was needed. I get plenty of satisfaction with media via PlayOn and my streaming consoles and devices, but I guess I'm just greedy for Navi-X on other than my PC screen. Thanks for all you do. :D

BTW, I made some cleaner looking desktop icons if you're interested in having them for use or distribution. It seems that the built in one is sort of jaggy. Here are the PNG's, but not sure how to get you the icons if you want them.

First up set

Code: Select all

channels.debug=true
instead of false. And the retry. What can be said straight up is that since MegaUpload was busted life has been hard and a number of those fileshares are tricky to work with (although 180upload seems to be the easiest and the most working one..)
For examples ShareBees are completely unstreamable (it works but the video staggers like hell).

There are some issues with 180upload script I think. Maybe I need to update there....
