samsung evolution kit breaks playback

Help. I've got two Samsung 55" smart TVs. Both read stuff via UMS until... I upgraded one with the samsung evolution kit. The other works as always, but the upgraded one will open a show and then just sit there at a frozen frame. I'm no expert in UMS and haven't (I think) tweaked anything. Any help appreciated. Thanks.
