Turn of your firewall, make sure there's no router between your PS3 and the UMS computer. If that doesn't help, follow the text in red above.

I've looked at your log. There is one error there that's caused by a renderer in your network called "DIRECTV" not following the UPnP standard properly. UMS doesn't handle that well, which leads to an error. I've made a fix for that, so that when a renderer breaks the standard UMS should handle it better in the next version. That said, I don't think this is causing the communication problem with the PS3, although I can't be 100% sure.
To eliminate the slim chance that this is cause the problems, please turn off / disconnect "DIRECTV" before starting UMS and try to connect the PS3.
There is no trace in the log of any PS3 being present, so I think the most likely cause is that your network is configured wrong. For UPnP/DLNA to work, all the devices must be on the same "network"/subnet. This means there can be no router between them that blocks the communication. If you have a partial wired and partial wireless network, and the UMS and the PS3 are on different "parts" (one of Wifi, one on wired), this is the most likely cause of the problem. If so, there's nothing UMS can do about it, this is limitations in the UPnP standard itself.
While it is possible to configure some routers to work in such a setup, this is usually quite complicated and requires a good understanding of TCP/IP by the person who does the configuration. An easier way to do it is to change the wireless router to "bridge mode"/transparent or whatever the router manufacturer call it. Most Wifi routers have this option, and what it does is that the router no longer works as a router, but simply as an "access point" on the existing network. That means that the wired and the wireless network "become one" and the commuication can flow freely.
If you're not sure if you have a router between UMS and your renderer, it's usually easy to see from the IP addresses used. UMS use the IP address 192.168.1.228, so the PS3 should have an IP address that is between 192.168.1.1 and 192.168.1.254 for them to be on the same subnet given that you use a standard network mask.
If you don't understand anything of this, please go to your PS3 and find its current IP address and post it here.
