I run UMS as a service on WHS v1
Today my Java runtime was 'automatically' updated to Jave 7 update 5
It appeared to install OK and I was asked to 'restart' the server

Having restarted the server I could no longer get UMS to launch
When I looked in the prgrm file sdirectory ther ws no debug log
even UMS.bat dies 'instantly' with no error.

So I downloaded and installed a new version of Java 7.5
Now everything runs OK

So I presume the update of Java 7.5 when UMS was running as a service 'failed'
And frustrated the subsequent attempts to launch UMS

Thanks for letting us know, Triplefun. It's not uncommon for Java updates to go badly and usually it just takes a re-install of JRE to fix it, as you found out
