Media player and codecs doesn't matter, UMS doesn't use that anyway. The only things that matter are the transcoding speed and the network bandwidth. My guess is that there are multiple issues here, but the 4K stuttering indicates that you either have a PC that's not fast enough to transcode those files or that the network can't transfer it.
