UMS (Official and Java 7) not working using OS X Mavericks

Hi guys,
I have used UMS for a while now. I upgraded to Mavericks on release day (not sure if this was a good thing in hindsight.) I tried to load UMS version 3 and it trys to load and throws out the following error.

Uncaught exception in main method: java.lang.NoSuchMethodError: org.slf4j.spi.LocationAwareLogger.log(Lorg/slf4j/Marker;Ljava/lang/String;ILjava/lang/String;[Ljava/lang/Object;Ljava/lang/Throwable;)V

Reading around I found that Java can be a nightmare with Macs so downloaded the Java 7 beta and that wouldn't work either. As in it tries to launch and fails.

Sorry I cannot attach any log files but without being able to load UMS I am unable to grab this log.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I have both Java 7 SDK and JRE installed

sky_shark_101, thanks for posting. I haven't upgraded to Mavericks myself and some people are having issues but i can't see where the issue may be. What version are you using, i'm assuming it's the latest 3.0.0 java 7?

sky_shark_101, updating to Mavericks removes any JavaSE6 that was previously installed. I wasn't able to open UMS 3.0.0 after Mavericks, the icon just bounced once. After installing Java for OS X 2013-005 from Apple, UMS loaded.

Here is the link for the update at Apple: http://support.apple.com/kb/dl1572
