I have been using the PS3 media server for a while to stream content from my main network computer. However, I got tired of the PS3 wireless bottleneck and with the growing variety of wireless adapters, I decided to get a Belkin universal wireless AV adapter (F7D4550) to take advantage of my 802.11n network and boost the PS3 connection. However, as soon as I connected the PS3 to this wireless adapter, I could no longer see it on the PS3 media server nor connect the PS3 to the media server. It has internet connectivity, just not visible on the media server. I would say it's the Belkin adapter, but I also connected my wired internet capable TV to it and the PS3 media server detects it...


I started looking for support online and saw that there is now a Universal Media Server, so I downloaded and installed that but no luck...

Has anyone else run into this issue and maybe have an idea of how to fix it?

Depending on your range and how many walls you have between the PS3 and your PC... determines the actual link speed and how much wireless attenuation will ensue... and even then with wireless say you do have a N connection between the two.. you still have to half the speed because the number represented is really an aggregate speed ( say its 130 mb link.. its really 65 mb tx and 65mb rx).

so what is the link speed between the two that you're getting now?

just google what your device looks like..

so its a 4 port wireless bridging adapter then... still wouldn't trust it...

is yours setup to something similar?

I dont own any wireless Bridges; normally too many issues/conflicts and its a networking bottleneck in most cases.
