Problem with subtitles and bitdepth

Hello,

I'm trying to stream some videos to a samsung h5600aw, but I got some problems:
1. The first video is 10 bitdepth, and the TV does not play it.
2. The other video is 8 bitdepth and the TV plays it well, but without subtitles (internal styled ass).
Both videos are mkv.

I hope you could help me.

What I've learned about Samsung TVs so far:
1) They don't support 10bit h264. Sometimes, you can get the TV to display it, if the combination of bitrate and other factors is right (I/P/B structure ie.) but the picture will be showing strange artifacts as the TV will try to interpret 10bit as 8bit. Interesting as an experiment, definitely not for serious watching ;-)
2) They don't support internal ASS subtitles. They say they do but they only display raw text at best, without styling.

The best way to play a MKV on a Samsung TV is with H264 L4.1 High 8bit, AC3/DTS and with subtitles in external *.SRT file.

At the end of your TV user manual there are several pages describing in details what containers and streams your box supports.
