Server:
Windows 7 x64 SP 1 (freshly rebooted)
Universal Media Server 3.2.0 (installed this morning)
JRE 7 Update 45 (updated this morning)

I've encountered two issues with UMS. The first is on start up where it seems to error out when processing one of my music folders (see attached debug file ums_dbg.zip). The Classical folder contains many subfolders and a large quantity of music - the majority of which is .flac encoded.

The second issue is more apparent when I attempt to browse the UMS files from a remote device (on the same wireless network). Having previously cleared the cache, I've connected to the server using BubbleUPnP and when attempting to browse a particular folder that I know to contain some .flac files, the UMS log window throws up a whole bunch of errors (see attached debug file ums_dbg_viewing.zip). The renderer device shows no files in the folder view. I've tested the files in that particular folder and they play fine in mediamonkey.

Renderer:
Android 4.1.2 (Samsung S3)
BubbleUPnP 1.7.1

Android 4.2.2 (Sony Xperia tablet Z)
BubbleUPnP 1.7.6.1

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Note that .mp3 files and video files are showing up correctly. Note also that this issue does not affect all .flac files, I have a great many folders that show up correctly in BubbleUPnP.

Two things can you try for me please.


1) disable the Android.conf -- its a catch all for android devices and conflicts with some renderer confs.

2) on your Android devices please use Skifta and in Skifta used the BASE/Default player -- its the only DNLA certified Software in the Play store -- i recommend it.

As far as your samsung galaxy device... Samsung mobile.conf should be used.

Not so sure about the Sony Xpera... but would be interested to know what the User-Agent is for that device --

Continue to follow the instructions in my signature -- and if need be, post your device spy results for the Xpera.

Not sure how to disable the Android.conf file. I renamed it, restarted UMS, and I get the same error.

Installed Skifta, reinitialised the UMS cache (and restarted), and I get the same error. See attached log file. Reasonably sure it's not the renderer, as I get the errors shown in the original ums_dbg.zip when UMS starts before any remote browsing has occurred.

For info, the .flac files were created with Easy CD-DA Extractor. However, all the .flac files were created using exactly the same settings.

Go to this button:

uncheck android
